고품질 제품 생산을 가장 중요하게 여긴다는 피비스위스툴. 창립 이래 혁신적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 스위스 품질 제품을 생산해왔다. 특히 고품질 유지를 위해 스위스의 바젠(Wasen)과 그루에넨(Gruenen)에 위치한 공장에 제조라인을 두고 전량생산하고 있다. 특히 대부분의 생산라인은 자동화되어 있으며, 품질관리 및 일부 특수공정의 경우 작업자가 수동으로 진행하고 있다.

To maintain exceptional quality, the Company operates production lines in Wasen and Gruenen, Switzerland. The majority of production lines are automated, with manual intervention by workers reserved for quality control and some specialized processes.

품질은 원재료 선택에서부터 시작된다. 피비스위스툴은 제품생산에 사용되는 철강 등 모든 원재료를 고유의 레시피로 특수 제작하고 있다. 자체 요구하는 품질수준이 높기 때문에 공산품이 아닌 주문제작방식을 고수하고 있는 것도 특징이다. 제품혁신을 위해 스위스 내 유수 대학 및 연구기관과 협력하고 있으며, 회사내 10명 이상의 엔지니어로 구성된 개발부서를 두고 있다.

1878년 창립, 수공구 전문기업으로 성장

피비스위스툴은 1878년 스위스 에멘탈 지방 심장부에 위치한 바젠이란 도시의 한 대장장이에 의해 설립되었다. 이후 1914년 철제품 생산으로 명성이 높았던 ‘Paul Baumann(PB)’이 기업을 인수하며 오늘날 피비스위스툴로 탄생했다. 피비스위스툴은 2차 세계대전 동안 스위스 군대를 위한 공구를 제작하면서 수공업 분야 고품질 공구생산으로 유명세를 타게 된다. 1953년 빨간색 투명한 스크류드라이버 그립 생산을 시작했고, 1967년 최초로 볼렌치 생산을 시작했다. 

 

Grown into a specialist in hand tools since its establishment in 1878
PB Swiss Tools was founded in 1878 in Wasen, located in the heart of the Emmental Region in Switzerland, by a blacksmith. In 1914, the Company was acquired by Paul Baumann (PB) and became renowned for its production of iron products. Thus, PB Swiss Tools was born. During World War II, PB Swiss Tools gained recognition for producing high-quality hand tools for the Swiss military. In 1953, the Company initiated the production of red, transparent screwdriver handles, and in 1967, it became the first to manufacture a ball-end hex key.

1960년 유럽에서 고급 스크류 공구수요가 증대함에 따라 새로운 제조공장을 설립한다. Establishment of a new manufacturing facility in response to the growing demand for high-quality screw tools in Europe in 1960.

 

2000년 무지개컬러의 볼렌치세트 개발로 글로벌 공구시장에 새 유행을 만들었다. Creation of a new trend in the global tool market by developing rainbow-colored wrench sets.

 

최초의 디지털 토크드라이버 개발

2000년 무지개컬러 볼렌치세트를 개발해 글로벌 공구시장에 새로운 유행을 불러일으킨 피비스위스툴. 2004년엔 절연공을 위한 제품군을 개발했고, 2005년부터는 드라이버 핸들에 디스플레이를 장착한 최초의 디지털 토크드라이버를 생산했다. 2011년 의료용 공구제작까지 현재 사업다각화 및 품목다변화를 꾀하고 있다.

In 2000, PB Swiss Tools made a significant impact on the global tool market by introducing the rainbow-colored ball-end hex key set, sparking a new trend. In 2004, the Company developed a product line for insulation purposes, and starting in 2005, it pioneered the production of the first digital torque driver with a display integrated into the driver handle. Continuing its commitment to innovation, PB Swiss Tools has diversified its business and expanded its product range, including the production of medical tools beginning in 2011.

80년대 자동화 생산 프로세스 시작

피비스위스툴은 스위스내 본사와 2개 공장을 비롯해 중국과 미국에 현지법인을 두고 있다. 총 직원수는 200명이다. 생산공정에 로봇솔루션을 도입한 최초의 회사 중 하나로 80년대에 이미 자동화 프로세스를 시작했다. 이러한 기술의 진보보다 더 중요하게 여기는 것은 바로 지속가능성. 공장에서 화석연료 대신 친환경 에너지를 적극 사용하고 있다. 환경을 보호하고 개선시켜 나가는 것이야말로 피비스위스툴 경영철학의 일부이다. 

 

Initiation of automated production processes in 1980s
PB Swiss Tools, headquartered in Switzerland with two manufacturing facilities, also maintains local subsidiaries in China and the United States. The total number of employees is 200. As one of the pioneering companies to introduce robotic solutions into the production process, PB Swiss Tools initiated automated processes in the 1980s. However, beyond the advancement in technology, the Company places paramount emphasis on sustainability, actively opting for eco-friendly energy sources instead of fossil fuels in their factories, PB Swiss Tools is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environment as a crucial part of its business philosophy.

올 여름 새로운 경영진 합류예정

올해로 146주년을 맞이한 피비스위스툴. 기존 그래왔듯 혁신기업이 되는 전략을 추구하고 있다. 이를 위해 올 여름 새로운 경영진이 합류할 계획이다. 현재 CEO인 에바 아이슬리가 회장직으로 마르코 바우만이 새로운 CEO로 취임함으로써 아들과 함께 새로운 역사를 만들어갈 준비를 하고 있다. 피비스위스툴은 앞으로도 최종 사용자를 위한 혁신적인 업무 솔루션 제공은 물론 그에 맞는 마케팅전략을 지속해나갈 예정이다. 
 

New management team set to join this summer
PB Swiss Tools, celebrating its 146th anniversary this year, continues its commitment to being an innovative company, just as it has throughout its history. As part of this strategy, a new management team is set to join this summer. 
Eva Jaisli, the current CEO, is preparing to make new history alongside her son as she is transitioning from her current role as CEO to the position of chairwomen, and Marco Baumann is appointed as the new CEO. PB Swiss Tools is dedicated to providing innovative work solutions for end-users and will persist in implementing corresponding marketing strategies in the future.
