Tungsten-Molybdenum division operated independently
Cretos Tungsten Rod operates an independent ‘Tungsten-Molybdenum’ business division serving as the tungsten and molybdenum supplier designated by the state government and provides the relevant services. The products include thorium tungsten rods, cerium tungsten rods, lanthanum tungsten rods, pure tungsten rods, and zirconium tungsten rods. Moreover, products related to argon arc welding have been developed. Cretos Tungsten Rod also holds intellectual property rights on a compact automated welding carriage, a tungsten rod grinder, and an argon arc welding wire torch. Over 20 million units of various kinds of tungsten have been produced, and the annual yield has reached over 200 tons. Sales are about 14.4 billion KRW. Cretos Tungsten Rod is recognized as a national advanced technology business, winning the Good Quality Prize and Science and Technology Advancement Prize.

‘혁신으로 시장을 개척하고, 신용으로 고객을 섬기자’를 경영이념으로 삼고 1965년 설립, 1970년엔 국가 주요프로젝트로 선정됐으며 가장 얇은 텅스텐봉 생산기록을 세우기도 했다.
Usage of high-density tungsten powder for the activation of tungsten

Cretos Tungsten Rod promoted technical exchange with tungsten experts in Switzerland in 1985 and has continuously enhanced tungsten rod technology and quality through cooperation with leading research institutes. In particular, qualified workers with experience of over 20 years among 70 workers are in charge of major manufacturing processes. They manage stable manufacturing processes, including accurate electrode classification and the secure stability and consistency of quality for all products through precise process inspection. In particular, the tungsten rod inspection system developed by Cretos Tungsten Rod ensures superior performance in electrode arc detection, process testing, and melting loss testing. The automated test system results are more reliable than those from manual test systems. In addition, test data can be used as more objective reference data because of fewer interference elements.
